A Successful Foreign Body Surgery

This is Harry with Dr. Miller two weeks after she performed his successful foreign body surgery! Harry ate a piece of rubber mulching, which lodged in his intestines causing vomiting, lethargy, and inappetance. The piece of rubber was seen on abdominal ultrasound in the jejunum (the section of small intestine after the stomach). The surgery, an intestinal resection and anastomosis, involved incision into the abdominal cavity and removal of the small section of intestine containing the foreign body. Everything went smoothly - Harry is back to wearing adorable sweaters and spending time with his family!
