November is Adopt a Senior Pet Month!

If you are looking for a calmer companion that just wants a little T.L.C., consider adopting an older pet. These pets end up in the shelter for many reasons - their human companion may pass away or move to hospice, their family may move away, they may not handle a new addition to the family (such as a baby), etc. Some are surrendered due to their own medical or behavioral issues which may not be apparent prior to adoption, so be prepared to put a little extra time, energy, and money into caring for your new friend. However, these are also the pets that tend to stay in the shelter the longest. It may be worth taking a look!
