November is Pet Diabetes Month!

Do you know what symptoms to look for in your dog?

Does your dog seem thirsty all the time? 

Does he or she urinate more than usual? 

Has your dog’s weight started to decrease even with a normal appetite? 

Did your dog go suddenly blind?

How about those cats?

Does your cat vomit or act lethargic? 

Has your cat’s appetite dropped off? 

Have you noticed any weight loss?

These are all possible clinical signs for Diabetes. Diabetes can be ruled out with simple blood and urine testing for high glucose levels. There are other causes for these signs too, so if glucose levels are normal your veterinarian may recommend additional testing.
